New Business Horizons Announces Launch of the World Map of Real Places in Second Life
NewswireToday - /newswire/ - Ilford, Essex, United Kingdom, 03/07/2009 - Following launch of their World Map of Real Places in Second Life®, New Business Horizons (NBH) are seeking more recommendations from SL residents to add to the project. Over 60 places from city centers to Aztec Temples have been added.
Imagine clicking on a spot on a map of the world and being instantly transported to a virtual location where you can wander around and experience the sights and sounds of distant places.
Visit Aztec temples in Mexico where you can climb (or fly) up the hundreds of stairs of a realistic looking replica and marvel at the panoramic view taking in the surrounding terrain and beautiful vegetation and seeing and hearing the gushing waterfalls.
Walk through the streets of Liverpool, England and go into the Cavern Club on Mathew Street, original home of the Beatles, meet and talk to other fans that have also made this virtual pilgrimage.
Even a small town like Limerick in Ireland has a recreation of the notorious Buddy's Bar - a hangout for bikers during its day - where regulars meet and experience live rock music events most weekends.
Many of these places are built by enthusiasts passionate about their country or home location. Some like Amsterdam are built for the revenue potential. Even the Government of Ontario in Canada has sponsored a four island environment to promote tourism and job opportunities in their province.
Award winning Second Life developer, New Business Horizons (NBH), has created the 'World Map SL', which is on display in the conference centre situated on the Blue Horizon Virtual Business Park, where visitors can click on any one of over 60 map pins and teleport from place to place.
NBH is now inviting other users of Second Life to come and visit and add a map pin to promote their favourite Second Life locations, if they are not already featured.
More information can be found on the nbhorizons.com website or by visiting the Blue Horizon Business Park inside Second Life.
