BIGJIM ALLERHAND & TABASCO live@Buddy's Bar Saturday March 28th - 2pm slt (9pm irish time)

Biography
Jim grew up in a small town in southeast Kansas, and while everyone else his age was listening to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, Jim was listening to Lightnin' Hopkins, Jimmy Reed and Son House. He started playing blues clubs at the advanced age of 13, and these legendary blues figures, along with artists like Sam and Dave and Wilson Pickett, became great influences on both his vocal and guitar style.

His family attended a small Baptist church, and Jim had the opportunity to merge these blues influences with gospel music, which draws strongly from the blues tradition. He led and performed gospel music and sang, along with his four brothers, in churches throughout the surrounding area.

Jim took a four year break from music while he served in the United States Marine Corps, but says "he still had the blues." After his military service, Jim and his family relocated to Southern California. There he picked up his guitar again and made his living as a musician, performing the blues throughout L.A. and Orange County. He also was in demand as a studio vocalist.

As a songwriter Jim has several film credits and a couple of songs cut by Edgar Winter. His credits include the film, "The Waterdance", which starred Wesley Snipes, Eric Stoltz and Helen Hunt, in which both his song and performance were used.

Jim eventually moved with his family to Colorado Springs where he continues to perform and where he also runs Jimbo's Take 2, an outstanding blues and acoustic music club that has hosted such notables as John Hammond Jr., Chris Thomas King, Bob Margolin, Otis Taylor, and Eden Brent along with outstanding local and regional acts. The Jim Adam Blues Band packs the house every time they play, and "Big Jim" Adam is a prominent figure on the regional blues scene.

Jim's album, "Rock Island Line", a collection of traditional and original blues material, has charted on the Living Blues radio chart and the Roots Music Report and has been enthusiastically received by audiences.

Just released, "Live at Jimbo's Take 2", is a high energy, live recording of the Jim Adam Blues Band. This is a group of gifted blues players that enjoy a special chemistry, they have a great time performing together and this is picked up immediately by the audience. Recorded at Jimbo's Take 2, Colorado Springs' "best blues venue", on two warm summer nights, some real blues magic was bottled, it's "down home funky style".

Jim has opened for blues legend John Hammond Jr., Ruthie Foster, folk icon John Stewart, Chris Thomas King, Michael Johnson (“Bluer than Blue”), Jake Armerding, Cajun rocker Zachary Richard, amongst others.

He is quickly being discovered by a national audience, and is looking forward to touring and meeting a larger audience in the year ahead.

Who says you can't teach and old dog new tricks? BigJim started performing in Secondlife in September of 2008. With a lot of help from SRV (the Blues Preacher), BigJim has really had a hoot performing in second life. The honest musicianship of his thumping guitar and big voice has made him a popular draw in this virtual world. Just stop by one of BigJim's show and you'll get a taste of some of his spicy Blues soup.
BigJim plays a mean acoustic guitar and wows you from the second you hear his wonderful Blues.

This Blues man born in rural Kansas back in the 50s has been performing since he was 13. In real life he's signed with Fossyl Records and is getting airplay around the country and abroad. His Latest project entitled 'Rock Island Line' stayed on the 'Roots Music Chart' (Radio airplay) for 21 weeks. His big voice and skill at storytelling, emotional singing and the honest musicianship of acoustic guitar with that right hand thumping the bass while strumming never fails to captivate his audience.

A.M.Forte Clarity Live @ Buddy's Bar - Friday 27th March...4pm slt (11pm irish time)

Making her debut to Buddy's Bar, We welcome A.M.Forte... Driven to succeed, A.M.Forte has sought out different avenues for exposure. As a singer/songwriter, she will never give up in her dreams to become known worldwide.

With Punk/Rock/Pop flairs, this artist has influences that include, U2, Nirvana, RadioHead, Alanis Morrissette, Coldplay, MCR, AAR, The Cranberries, Our Lady Peace and Elliott Smith.

Forte's music has been played on the Radio including: 106.5FM "THE END", 99.7FM "The Storm", Good Sh*t Radio (Internet Radio) and ELC Radio (Internet Radio). A.M.Forte also won 1st place in the "My Network TV" Rock contest for the week of 10/1/06. In the next few weeks, AMFORTE will be recording her newest song.

Nothing Concrete by A.M.Forte

AMFORTE’s voice is a treasure as well. It’s clear, pitch perfect and while she has that bubbly personality, her singing voice has a bit more nastiness, probably the angry girl filtering in. She sings well and gets the message through very clearly. She’s a pleasure to listen to and I could have all night. Perhaps I’ll have to buy her CD.

Take note of the song names, you may be hearing them in real life. Songs like Nothing Concrete, You Owe Me, Sister and Ain't Easy To Please to name a few. You may hear more than that.

AMFORTE is relatively new to Second Life® (12/22/08) but she is certainly on her way to making a mark here.

TUKSO OKEY Live@Buddy's Bar- 5pm slt (12 midnight irish time)

Tonight makin hes debut to the Buddy's Bar stage we welcome tukso Okey...

Reaching within himself for an appreciation of rich and eclectic musical traditions, Tukso Okey is an original -- a musical genre unto himself. From a small lad, Tukso took in the music the urban world around him, and he has turned it around to give it back to us with richness and a robust passion. He plays solo but, with the assistance of electronics, he builds before us music that soon have us believing that we are listening to a full band with percussion, bass, and rhythm. And then he jams with a raw lead guitar and a hard earthy vocal quality that can reach very different places in each person who listens. Come feel the experience, shake it up, and then spread the word...

THIS IS HOW TUKSO OKEY PLAYS AND STREAMS INTO SECOND LIFE...

Grace Buford "A.K.A." Cylindrian Rutabaga in Second life

She was featured in Billboard Magazine’s Jan 19, 2008 Issue under the Indie Music Section along with Hep Shepherd (Jeff Krantz in RL) for her use of new media to market her music.

Because of contacts made inSL Cylindrian has traveled and performed in cities all across the United States and was filmed as a mentor for SL Musician Keiko Takamura during a segment on MTV’s: True Life in March 2008. Known as a pioneer of virtual music, Cylindrian’s performances carry the listener on a journey guided by lyric and melody. Though, she likes to perform various cover songs that have inspired and moved her, she prefers to perform her own original material.

The woman behind the avatar, Grace Buford began her musical adventure at the tender age of 4 years old while listening to her older brother practice piano. That was the spark that ignited her desire to make music. Passion, perseverance, and determination have always been present in her music from that early age. Her desire to hone her craft continues even today as she attempts to impart some of that same ethic on her music students.

“Southern pine forests, winding rivers, and muddy bare feet are luxuries to Atlanta, GA. native Grace Buford.

Life's experiences, be they good or bad, are the fuel and passion that underpin Grace's unique style of songwriting and it shows. Her music engages the heart and mind of her audience, there is feeling and the feeling is shared. From a rhythmic acoustic song about facing negative thoughts in a battle for the mind to a flowing, ethereal keyboard that exposes the vulnerability of facing change, Grace's music and live performances are an emotional ride that will leave you spellbound and wanting more.

As with those shining lights of previous generations of folk/acoustic rock acts, Grace's influences are broad, she is open-minded, curious and not a believer in musical boundaries defined by genres Grace creates what she feels.

Of course to truly experience Grace the best way is to catch her live show, a performer that holds nothing back in terms of energy and is happiest when sharing. There's no pretense or falsehoods, no trickery or gimmicks, be it an intimate venue or a hall you are guaranteed the bare-footed energetic dynamo that is Grace Buford, a voyage of laughter, of tears and every emotion in between is shared openly with her audience and it will leave you wanting for more."

Cylindrian aims to use her skills at social networking, marketing, and music to bring the real world to the virtual and the virtual to the real world in a beautiful fusion of art, music, and technology; in her mind it reflects the proper use of Second Life(tm).

Cylindrian Rutabaga is Grace Buford, Atlanta Singer/Songwriter

Suzen JueL, a.k.a. JueL Resistance in second life

Suzen JueL, a.k.a. JueL Resistance, is a self taught musician who has been performing since she was 13 years old. She has perfected the weaving of her mind's eye and heart's passion into lyrical paintings richly embedded with emotional hues from her personal experiences. Her lyrics feed the listener's soul and stirs the heart and sentiment of any who have been privileged to hear her perform them.

Suzen "JueL" Resistance's creative roots are deeply entrenched in a family of french musicians, artists and writers. Her Grampa Jule made a guitar in 1967,that he later gave her when she showed a keen interest in music. With her newfound passion she began writing and playing at every opportunity.

JueL moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1989 and enjoyed ten amazing, successful years playing at The Fine Line, The Loring Bar, Club Metro and numerous other cafes and coffeehouses. She recorded her first CD during that era and with high hopes waited for her star to rise.

Soon after, she met and married her soulmate and became a stepmom to his 4 awesome boys who lived with them. As often happens in life, her ambitions were pushed to the back as she became a wife and mother to her new family. Years later with the boys grown, she found herself tickling the guitar strings once again.

Her style and sound have been compared, both lyrically and vocally, to such legendary greats as Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, Sue Foley, Leonard Cohen, Janis Joplin, Mazzy Star, Curt Cobain as well as a generous handful of other talented acoustic musicians.

As one of the first indie musicians to join and perform in Second Life, she has built a strong presence in the virtual world. A world where she is also known for her visual art work; her paintings, drawings and photography are displayed in various galleries throughout Second Life. In addition, she owns and performs at the infamous "Living Room #13" where she has headlined and hosted Naked Acoustic Sessions for almost 2 years, bringing in only the finest seasoned and raw musicians of SL.

JueL is currently working on her latest CD while preparing for her 2nd adventure to Mahoneyfest in Georgia. Her latest work in progress is a compilation of both recent and past experiences blended soulfully into a deep groove of blues, americana, folk and "unplugged acoustics". To listen to and support JueL's music you can find her web presences at http://www.thesixtyone.com/JueLResistance and http://www.myspace.com/7Juel. You can also hear her perform live in Second Life, by creating an account at http://www.secondlife.com; once inworld search "Juel Resistance", "Dirty Pirate Whores" her fan club, and/or "Living Room #13". In addition, you can find more photos, podcasts, news, stories, art and information by performing a Google search on "JueL Resistance".
